Through movement we have the profound ability to heal. Our stories, thoughts, emotions and internal environment overall live deep in our tissues. Depending on how we feed these aspects of ourselves, they can sometimes build up severe tension in our bodies which can lead to chronic pain that tremendously impacts our basic functionality of movement, mobility and joy.

Through somatic integration, imagery, breath & embodied mindful movement it’s my mission to help you unravel your tension and pain so that you can discover what it would feel like to live and move with ease!

My approach to movement is unique in nature. It’s meditation in motion, a deep nervous system massage; slow, gentle and mindful. It invites those who practice it to develop a practice of patience, encouraging the practitioner to go at their own pace and explore and discover the unique language of their body and patterns of holding that impede the way they function on a daily basis. Awareness is the first step to profound healing.

Let’s not allow the fear of pain stop us from moving and living our lives with ease and enjoyment. I believe movement is truly medicine. My teachings are designed to offer sustainability, functionality, mobility and longevity as well as tools and confidence to help manage pain when it shows up and not fear it.

After suffering from a mild back injury as a result of a highly physical and active lifestyle, I decided to start working privately with Julia via Zoom. There are a number of reasons that make Julia’s sessions stand out from the others. Julia is very knowledgeable and intuitive as to what exercises and stretches you should be focusing on with special attention to the breath. Her focus on properly breathing through all the exercises are a huge advantage to getting the most you can out of each movement.  Julia has changed my lifestyle and the way I do everything physically. Julia is such a wonderful teacher. The info I received has been great to keeping my shoulders moveable, relaxed and strong. She also is a wonderful caring person. The other day in class I had this awful feeling I felt so nauseous, she asked during class if I was ok and she also sent me an email asking me how I was feeling.  That caring goes a long way and I just had to share that. And I was fine.

I love Julia’s approach – she puts you in the driver’s seat by reminding you how your body has its own language. I’m not flexible was my mantra.  Now, I’m learning to unravel that bit by bit. It’s not easy but I am definitely more aware of my body’s tensions.  The best part is applying this thinking, breathing and movement on and off the mat.  As an actor it’s a game changer…I am aware of my tension and where I hold it plus, I’m even learning to be a wee bit, more, gentle on myself in the process. Julia Juhas at Live With Ease is an awesome instructor and guide.  She has been integral to my healing, helping me really understand the mind body connection and emotional connection to where trauma is stored and to where my nervous system is on over-drive.

This is a different type of yoga then anything I have experienced and it has been extremely powerful.  If you are someone who is struggling right now with chronic pain, I can’t recommend a session with her enough. Take care of yourself. You are worth it. Don’t be like me and wait until it’s not an option.
