Rise Up & Salute the Sun (Gently!)
Hello beautiful soul,
As the golden light of a new day rises, I invite you to rise too—not with a jolt or a jump, but with softness, intention, and a whole lot of love.
Welcome to another moment in our Rise Up series—a celebration of spinal health, mindful movement, and yoga practices that honour where you are right now. Today, I’m absolutely thrilled to share a video practice with you, an oldie but a goodie:
Yoga for Beginners | Soft Sun Salutation
This isn’t your typical Sun Salutation. There’s no rushing, no forcing, and definitely no need to “keep up.” This one’s all about saluting the sun in the most easeful and deliciously slow way possible.
We’ll move with care.
We’ll breathe with presence.
We’ll explore transitions as if each one holds a secret (spoiler: they do).
Whether you’re brand new to yoga or navigating the sticky terrain of tension, stiffness, or chronic discomfort—this practice is a soft landing pad. Think of it as a moving meditation, a kind conversation with your spine, and a cozy nudge toward your most grounded self.

This flow is for you if you’re:
- A beginner just dipping your toes into yoga
- Feeling tight, achy, or just… off
- Craving a nourishing, grounded start to your day
- A lover of all things slow, juicy, and mindful
There’s no “perfect” pose here—only your pose, in your way, at your pace. You’re invited to move how you move, breathe how you breathe, and most importantly, listen to what your body is whispering (or shouting) today.
Let’s rise up together—not with force, but with presence.
Not with rigidity, but with rhythm.
Not to strive, but to connect.
And I’d truly love to know:
How did the sequence land for you?
Did something shift? Open? Surprise you? Speak to you in a new way?
Your insights, reflections, and lightbulb moments are always welcome in my inbox. Truly—your stories breathe life into this space.
Until next time, may you move with ease, live with intention, and always honor the beauty of your body—just as it is, right now.
With warmth and sunshine,
Julia
